Dr. Michael Steinitz is a professor at St. Francis Xavier University and has been the editor of the Canadian Journal of Physics since 2006. He was President of the Canadian Association of Physicists from 1998-1999 and Chair of the board of directors of the Canadian Institute for Photonic Innovations from 1999-2002. His research focuses on neutron scattering and dilatometry as applied to different magnetic structures. Steinitz is also passionate about the performing arts, serving on the board of directors and as Chair to the Antigonish Performing Arts Committee. This year, Dr. Steinitz will be a member of our career panel where he will address issues and answer questions about careers outside and within academia.
