Biography

Dr. Manuella Vincter was a professor at the University of Alberta before coming to Carleton University 13 years ago. She has spent the majority of her research here centered at the CERN Laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland, working on the ATLAS detector. Her research focuses on the measurement of the proton substructure, the abundance of W, Z boson production (i.e. the mediators of the Weak force), as well as the properties of its decay products. Dr. Vincter’s main interests are in the decay of these bosons to electrons and how electrons can be used to better understand how the ATLAS detector works. This year, we are excited to have Dr. Vincter conducting a breakout session helping students apply to graduate schools.
